Consulting
We generally provide basic research  development on all projects where it is not provided by the client. This enables us to produce more accurate evaluations and estimates.

We also provide specific R&D for accuracy of a period, i.e., 18th Century French, 19th Century American, 20th Century Art Deco. Having been an antique broker and appraiser of antiques, I am able to provide accurate designs and scale in these areas. On all projects we are contracted to manufacture, we provide engineering and mechincal drawings, if the project requires it.

Our consulting services are also available to clients who, for various reasons, are not able to have us manufacture the product directly. From experience, we have the knowledge needed to develop the designs that the particular period requires, including R and engineering. We are often requested to provide production management control, formulating finishes and management quality control.

  • Design Drawing - Engineering - Mechanical Drawings
  • Color and finish development of samples and formulas that meet aesthetic or design needs, and also specific structural requirements.
  • We have 30 years experience in this field.

Refinishing
We provide a complete and competitive refinishing service for furniture and architecture. With a wide range of products, techniques and services, We will formulate a specific finish that meets the structural, design, (and if the project is on site) environmental needs of the project.

Understanding that the specific needs of furniture is different than architecture and case goods. We also have an advantage in terms of traditional finishes. Antique restoration has always been a big part of our work. Most of our reproduction finishes look like the original finish, but are executed with contemporary materials and techniques. The best of both worlds.

Antique Restoration
Regarding antique restoration, it is very important to know how to preserve and save an original finish. It adds value to an antique to keep the original finish intact. If it cannot be preserved, you must know how to remove it without destroying the valuable patina and age that the piece has incurred. Of course, selecting the best replacement finish, depending on the needs of the piece, the client, and the budget, are all important. In this area, we have a distinct advantage by having 25 years in the antique business. We've seen it all.

Furniture Design  Manufacturing
We utilize contemporary and old world techniques, as the design situation dictates. We have been designing furniture for major distributors, architects, design firms, and contractors. We have developed custom pieces for thousands of clients for over 3 decades.

MANUFACTURING

CUSTOM VENEERING

  • Book matching - finding sources and selecting exotic veneers from around the world. We have sources nationwide and worldwide.
  • Hot press - Cold press
  • Hand hammer - a technique used prior to the 19th century. We also have an extensive source reference of veneers from around the world.
  • Contact cement - although widely used as an inexpensive approach, we DO NOT recommend it. It has very little structural value and will not last more than a few years.
